Chattanooga’s “Climbing Higher” adaptive climbing program receives GOA grant

Category: Chattanooga Local News, Climbing, Rock Climbing

January 20, 2012 By Jeff Bartlett

Grassroots Outdoor Alliance has announced the recipients of its inaugural “Belay” grant program, in cooperation with Columbia Sports, and the City of Chattanooga Parks & Rec “Climbing Higher” program is one of the lucky grantees! The program will receive a $5,000 cash award to further its mission.

Rock/Creek, a Grassroots Outdoor Alliance (GOA) retail member, served as sponsor for the Climbing Higher Program’s grant application. We covered the 2011 Climbing Higher session on this blog; click here for the article.

Excerpted from the press release:

“The Belay Program will provide direct support for additional local conservation projects, promote community partnership and volunteerism, and enhance current GOA projects and partnerships… We’re very excited to partner with Columbia to work with such a dynamic group of partners and projects.”
