Coming soon to Rock/Creek: the Evolv Shaman climbing shoe, designed by Chris Sharma

Update 04-21-2011: THEY’RE HERE! Buy the new Evolv Shaman climbing shoe at Rock/Creek!

—

One of the most highly-anticipated new pieces of gear for this spring is the newest climbing shoe in the Sharma Signature Series by Evolv: the Shaman. Created by Chris Sharma, Evolv promises this one is going to be a game-changer.

The Shaman will be Evolv’s most advanced climbing shoe, built on a new last designed by Chris Sharma. It has a downturned, asymmetrical toe profile for high-level climbing. With a synthetic upper and pigskin lining for comfort, the shoe features Evolv’s “Love Bump” midsole to eliminate dead space under the toe area, helping to maintain the downturned fit and giving extra power for edging moves.

Here’s the most recent status update from Evolv:

Well, we have some good news to report to you. The Shaman is nearing completion and will be released this Spring! We just have to work out some minor kinks and the Shaman will finally go into production. Chris is quite the perfectionist and he’s really putting his heart and soul into his new shoe.

More specs for rock-climbing gear geeks only: the Shaman features a 4mm TRAX XT high-friction rubber sole, with a 1.5mm half-length thermo-molded MX-P midsole and the VTRand (which is thicker in the front of the shoe).

Word on the street is that the Evolv Shaman will be shipping soon, and Rock/Creek is definitely going to have these available as soon as they arrive!

The Shamans have been Very well received in our first two weeks of demos in the SE. Geshido’s and Prime Lace are also going to be very sweet kicks as well!
