Rock/Creek Outfitters (RockCreek.com) is proud to present the Mountain Stories Slideshow Series. Monday, November 1, Jack Tackle will present a show at the 100 Tremont Street Rock/Creek store in downtown Chattanooga at 7:00 p.m. Then on Tuesday November 2, we will have a show from Doug Coombs, taking place at the same time in the same place.
Jack Tackle is a renowned climber with decades of experience in all types of climbing and a passion for alpine-style unclimbed routes. He has challenged himself on numerous adventures in the Himalayas, South America, and Alaska. Best known for his Alaskan climbing, Jack has taken 29 separate trips combining both attempts and successes since 1976 and has completed 11 major first ascents in Alaska’s various mountain ranges. For over twenty years, Jack has served as a Senior Guide with the prestigious Exum Mountain Guides in Wyoming. His experience and commitment to outdoor leadership promise to make this a great slideshow.
Doug Coombs is a two-time world extreme skiing champion, a heli ski guide for the past 14 years and has over 250 first ski descents in Alaska, Kyrgystan, Antarctica, Chile, France, Switzerland and the USA. He is a UIAGM/AMGA certified ski mountaineering guide whose specialty is guiding steep adventurous terrain. Along with his wife Emily he runs Steep Skiing Camps Worldwide in France and Switzerland and spends over 100 days a year guiding in the Alps, Alaska and the Tetons. He spends summers ski and rock guiding for Exum Mountain Guides in Jackson Hole, WY. Doug’s slideshow, “Seeing the World Through Steep Skiing,” will highlight expeditions to La Grave, Alaska, Greenland, Antartica, Kygrystan, the Tetons, and Canada.
