It’s that time of year: there are 30 days left before the 2011 Rock/Creek StumpJump 50k trail race. Summer is almost over, and our biggest race is just around the corner!
According to numbers provided by UltraRunner Magazine, StumpJump is the second-largest 50k trail race in the country. Check out this article from Trail Runner Magazine, which refers called the 2009 race “the East’s Legendary Meat Grinder.” Back in 2009, just over 500 runners ran the two distance options; this year, registration will close at 850, and we’re rapidly approaching that number.
Repeat: the 2011 #SJ50k WILL fill up, and soon. Register now if you want to run this prestigious race!
This year’s Friday Night speaker is The North Face athlete Diane Van Deren, and we’re really looking forward to meeting her. If you don’t know anything about Diane’s incredible story, click here to learn more.
For full race details, course maps, directions, past results, photos and so forth, visit the rockcreek.com’s StumpJump 50k race page. Need some last-minute training tips? Read this article. Wanna see videos? Go here.
All race proceeds go to local non-profits for trail building and maintenance in the Chattanooga area. Last year’s StumpJump raised $27,000 for trails!
