New hair dos, new shoes, new clothes, new gear, new car, new house… what did you do new for 2010? If you are still searching for something new in 2010, Rock/Creek has some suggestions.
How about a wind-blown-look hair style, brand new trail running shoes, an acquired sense of adventure and the coolest t-shirt on the block from the Rock/Creek Trail Series?
Rock/Creek today announces that registration for the 2010 Rock/Creek Trail Series has opened. Growth from the 2009 Trail Series and national recognition for races such as the 10th annual Rock/Creek StumpJump 50k will make for an exciting 2010 season. Between 2,000 to 3,000 racers are expected for 10 race dates and 14 different race distances from a “kiddie k” up to a 50 miler.
We’ve grown, expanded, listened to your feedback and there are no re-runs in 2010. Even the oldest race, the Rock/Creek StumpJump, will be better than ever! Below, we’ve constructed a brief “show and tell” to guide you through what’s new for the 2010 Rock/Creek Trail Series.
We have placed directional tabs on the top of every race page to make navigation to your desired topic easier and quicker. Participants can Register, View Course Maps or Descriptions, Get Directions, and compare previous course times from the Results Table to amp up their own personal records.
Upon many requests, Race Registration is open for ALL 2010 Rock/Creek Trail Series races starting the beginning of the year. The exception for this is the uniquely challenging Upchuck 50k which will have its own unique application process to be announced later this year. The only hint we can offer is to practice eating a lot of food before your training runs and see what happens

Patagonia will be the provider of the Trail Series Tee Shirts! This super light weight, moisture wicking tee will spruce up your running gear collection for 2010. *
* For those race participants not so keen on receiving a t-shirt (or just needing to save a few bucks), there are registration options without a T-Shirt labled “No T-Shirt Option”.
The Rock/Creek Trail Series and some of our races are gaining National recognition by Trail Runner Magazine and UltraRunning publications for the acclaimed “premier trail races in the southeast” such as the StumpJump 50k and Lookout Mountain 50 miler.
New or Improved sponsorships from some of your favorite brands have committed over $50,000 in cash and prizes guaranteeing to make the packet pick-up swag bags a little heavier and the trail race events even bigger!
Long-time supporters SmartWool, Salomon, Vasque PROJECT, Hammer Nutrition, Marmot, Patagonia and The North Face will return this year.
Other sponsors include Montrail, CamelBak, La Sportiva, KEEN, Deuter, Trail Runner Magazine, Columbia, Headsweats, and Black Diamond. Local sponsors include Greenlife Grocery and Archer Physical Therapy. Sponsorship opportunities are still available. Contact mark [at] rockcreek.com for more information.
We promise to post preliminary results from top finishers the day of the race. This is to reflect Rock/Creek’s desire to give credit where credit is due for the outstanding achievements from our race participants. We will also gather as many photos from the day and post them day-of so you can show off your smiling face on the podium to all your family and friends.
Rock/Creek looks forward to a very memorable year. As we improve the Trail Series and gain more recognition, we only hope our mission becomes contagious to our neighboring communities; to give back by building and maintaining trails in the surrounding Chattanooga area. As always, race proceeds go directly back into trail maintenance, access, and running our nonprofit, The Wilderness Trail Association. If you’re not already a member, check out Run in the Boonies and sign up to participate in the forums. Read more about the races and sign up on the 2010 Rock/Creek Trail Series page.
