How long at R/C?: 2+ years
Favorite activities:
Loaded question! I love all things outdoors and active, from the deepest cave to the highest peaks and everything in between. I love trail running, hiking, backpacking, climbing, mountaineering, caving, mountain biking, road cycling, etc. You get the point!
Favorite quote:
“On the mountains of truth you can never climb in vain; either you will reach a point higher up today, or you will be training your powers so that you will be able to climb higher tomorrow.” Nietzsche
Top 3 memorable moments outside:
My first glimpse of a sunrise from a high peak was a religious experience.
My first backpacking trip in the Smokies. Started as a beautiful day, then went to hell! Cold, wet and miserable, I was totally at peace. Was completely taken in by the wilderness. Those 3 days changed me forever.
First time topping out at Sunset Rock. The route was More Fun with Dick and Jane. Took me a while before I could successfully climb a route. This was a big day for me! I was hooked… and Mom was, well, concerned.
Favorite place and why:
Montana and Wyoming are my favs. Big mountains, huge ranges, wildlife, what’s not to love? I do have a soft spot for the the Tetons. Beautiful range.
What drives you to get outside?:
Its the place where I feel the most alive. Doesn’t matter if I am hanging off a cliff or a hundred feet below ground. I must get outside! Even in the most stressful conditions, I’m at peace.
Favorite product R/C carries and why:
I have so much gear I love! The piece of gear I am most fond of is my Suunto watches. Probably my Quest. It has changed my training routines which in turn has made me so much more effective and efficient. Plus, it keeps me honest!
