The former Mall at Turtle Creek location remains closed for holiday shopping season
JONESBORO, Ark., November 17, 2020 — Gearhead Outfitters announced today its plans to open a temporary pop-up shop in a partnership with Gamble Home inside the former Pier 1 location located on Highland Drive in Jonesboro.
The pop-up shop was created in an effort to accommodate holiday shoppers who are coming into the area. Both Gearhead Outfitters and Gamble Home were displaced after the March 2020 tornado damaged both Jonesboro-based retail locations inside The Mall at Turtle Creek. Haag Brown commercial recently announced that Gearhead Outfitters and Gamble Home have purchased, and will occupy, the former Sears building at the corner of Highland Drive and Caraway Road in Jonesboro, AR. While a formal date hasn’t been announced, they’re optimistic for a Spring 2021 opening.
The pop-up shop will open Saturday, November 21st and will remain open until after the first of the year. Operating hours will be Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and Sunday 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. You can expect to see all your favorite clothing, outerwear and shoes that you’d find in any Gearhead Outfitters locations including brands like Patagonia and The North Face.
“We are excited to provide this holiday shopping option for our Gearhead customers,” Gearhead Outfitters owner, Ted Herget, said. “This year has challenged us in more ways than one, first with the tornado taking out our mall location, then with all of the uncertainty surrounding the Covid-19 pandemic,” Herget continued. “With this new store, we will not only have increased square footage to help prevent overcrowding at our downtown location, but will also have added shopping options including curbside pickup. We want everyone to be able to spread out and feel safe while also being able to continue some normalcy with their holiday shopping traditions.”
The Gamble Home element will elevate the shopping experience and help divide the space even more with an interesting showroom intertwined with the retail components. “Joining Gearhead at the Pier1 spot is going to be a great move for us. We are excited to keep moving forward and adapting to our community’s needs. With our Caraway road location finally coming to a close and the Sears spot not yet ready, joining Gearhead at Pier1 just seemed like the next logical step in solidifying our partnership as we all grow and move.”
